Why did I choose Aerospace Engineering?
The short answer is I watched the video below and wanted to see these celestial bodies myself (probably not possible in my lifetime but who knows what the future holds!).
I see the Aerospace industry as the field containing the most innovation within the next 50 years.
To think humans have last been to the moon in the early 70s is wild. SpaceX has been able to reuse rockets and Relativity is able to 3D print rockets! Space tourism is finally a reality. Private companies are developing space stations. The super exciting Orbital Reef project is finally starting. Space factories?!?! are soon to be tested. All these companies are doing such exciting work. This work will not only improve life on Earth but also life beyond Earth. I cannot wait to live in a world where humans are multi-planetary. That future is exciting! Overall, Space is cool and unknown. The fact that we know so little about what lies beyond Earth gives me drive to learn and find out what is "out there". I chose Aerospace to accomplish just that! I want to aid humanity in becoming multiplanetary and finding out the unknown just as Christopher Columbus did in the 1500s. Humans are natural born explorers. I want to use my drive and passion to make humans on Mars a reality.
Fun Fact

When I was interning in Florida over the summer, I spent a whole day at Kennedy Space Center. In other words, I was there from open to close! Here is my favorite picture of the rocket garden from that day. I have also seen over 6 SpaceX launches in person! Maybe one day I will catch the Falcon Heavy.
